How The Ethical Theory Or Ethical Principles Might Be Applies To
How The Ethical Theory Or Ethical Principles Might Be Applies To How The Ethical Theory Or Ethical Principles Might Be Applies To Euthanasia ââ¬â Term Paper Example Assisted Suicide Assisted Suicide In the case of assisted suicide of Terri Schiavo a 41 year old female who was severally ill and was on the verge of experiencing death was removed from her artificial life support of a feeding tube (YouTube, 2014). The person who took the final decision of removing the tube was her husband who was even held responsible for hurting her due to which Terri was experiencing deadly health conditions. She ultimately died 12 days after she was removed from her life support and she was administered with high dosage of morphine which was induced to relieve her from her sufferings. Since then, till date the debate of whether her husbandââ¬â¢s decision of removing her from life support was an ethical one or not has been taking place. Taking into consideration the ethical theory of Kant for ethical decision making it would not be wrong to suggest that the decision of removing Terri from life support is completely ethical in nature. Kant states that the decisi on makerââ¬â¢s reason for making a decision should be that he she is ready to accept the same decision in similar or any other situation (Cooper, 2000). The husband states that it was Terriââ¬â¢s will that she did not want to live on life support and the reason was backed by her brother and her brotherââ¬â¢s wife. If the husband made the decision of removing Terri from life support on the basis of the reason that if a similar or another situation takes place in which he is removed from life support and if he had a will of not living on life support then his decision is an ethical one.References"The Terri Schiavo Story."à YouTube.
